EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITIZATION REPROCESSING (EMDR)
EMDR is a research-supported therapeutic modality designed to help individuals process unresolved trauma, distressing experiences, and deeply rooted emotional wounds. By targeting how traumatic memories are stored in the brain, EMDR can reduce emotional intensity and help clients move toward healing. This approach can be particularly effective for trauma, anxiety, PTSD, and negative self-beliefs
This is a powerful and effective modality, and something I experienced personally working with my therapist that shifted my perspective on distressing experiences. Being on both sides of this modality, I find I have more meaningful experiences with my clients.
